Jordon Bloch (guitar/harmonica) joined Mama D as their second dynamic guitar player in 2017.
While his first memory of picking up a guitar was at 9 years old, his musical background stems from learning clarinet and piano in elementary school, percussion in middle school, and playing rock drums with an original band in high school. He continued to write songs and play guitar in college and beyond.
His biggest musical influence was growing up in a musical household, where jamming with his dad, a proficient guitar player and teacher, and his sister Jasmine Bloch-Krempels (yes, the same Jasmine that plays bass with Mama D) was a regular weekend activity. Jasmine and Jordon recorded their own Christmas album, aptly named A Jasmine and Jordon Christmas, in high school as a fun project. This album also included recordings from their first Christmas album that was recorded in 1987 with their dad. After being asked to jam with Mama D one night in 2017, Jordon began to play with the band at larger venues more regularly in 2018.
Jordon currently works in finance for a media agency in Jersey City and enjoys surfing, snowboarding, playing soccer, lacrosse and running. You can catch Jordon’s last gig with the band at Bottle Hill Day in Madison on October 5, as he will be relocating to Southern California with his wife Alexandra in November.
