Jasmine Bloch-Krempels (bass guitar/backing vocals) has been a permanent member of Mama D & The Vexations for the last 2 years.
Jasmine had previously subbed with the band for 6 months prior to that time, and was thrilled to join the band as a full-time member. She started playing bass over 20 years ago at the age of 13, after having studied piano for 6 years. She was inspired by her love of The Beatles and Paul McCartney’s creative bass lines. She played bass with the Jazz Band at Hillsborough High School, and has since gone on to play in over 100 musical theater productions in the NY/NJ area. Jasmine currently plays a Schecter Stiletto Studio 5 with D’Daddario Chrome strings.
When Jasmine is not on stage with Mama D, she serves as the Director of 5th Grade Bands for the School District of South Orange and Maplewood. Jasmine received a BM in Music Education (Percussion) from The College of NJ and an MA in Music Business from New York University. Jasmine is a proud member of SAG-AFTRA; if you look closely, you may catch her in the background of many of TV show and movies that are filmed in NYC. She currently lives in Orange with her husband Craig and their two Siamese cats, Hamlet and Alister.
